I have only gotten the chance to use the bracelet once while fishing in a heavily wooded area that is typically swarming with mosquitos & other flying insects. I chose to wear the “bracelet” around my ankle as that’s where it seems most things like to bite me. I did not receive a single bite on my entire body after wearing only one of these for over 4 hours in the midday’s sun (~95 degrees F). It survived my sweat, some water and some other fishing dirt/debris. I plan on using one again today but might open a new one to put on and sling the old one around my tackle-box. I would imagine if you threw one of these on your ankle and one on your wrist (or backpack maybe?) you’d be able to hike through some decently heavy stuff and come out relatively unscathed. Always have a backup when it comes to insect repellent!

We had our doubts about these but I HATE bug spray so my thoughtful wife got these for us. Well, they work quite well and I think they smell kinda good too. They are super easy to use, last longer than one time ,come in a ziploc bag for storage between uses and well worked.
I highly recommend these.by the way, we are up in the mosquito capital of the USA in Alaska.
That’s so nice as they’re so easy to use because you can wear it around your wrist or you can wear around your leg. You can actually stretch it enough to wear it around your neck or you can attach it to something and hang it on your person.

I bought these as an afterthought, thinking they might help when I had to go out quickly where there might be mosquitoes but didn’t have time to put on bug repellent. I wasn’t really sure they’d work or work very well. I’m pleasantly surprised. I went out for a walk the other night, didn’t have time for the repellent lotion, so slipped one of these on my ankle. I ended up meeting a friend at dusk and talking. My two friends started commenting on how it was getting “buggy” and swatting at their legs. I was totally fine. I am a mosquito magnet, so was very happy that apparently this bracelet on my ankle had saved me. This wasn’t a heavily infested area, but it did work for me. I’ve been wearing one of these around my ankle now for a while when I go for a walk (which is usually at dusk) and so far have been mosquito free – and I used to get bites all the time if I didn’t use some kind of bug repellent. Now it’s nice to know I can use one of these instead of putting all those chemicals all over my skin. I think I would use repellent in a heavily infested area, especially for ticks and other bugs though. I also think these would work well for young children who are out especially later in the day when the mosquitoes are out and it’s harder to find a safe bug repellent for very young children.

We recently went on a long camping trip hitting several national parks. We wanted to avoid being bit up by bugs, but also wanted to avoid having to douse ourselves in chemical filled bug spray repeatedly. These bracelets were pretty effective. I would usually put one on my wrist and one on my ankle. I had very few bites overall and in some spots the mosquitos were very thick and active.
In the evening, we would hang a few of these near our tent opening as well. It did seem to help repelling mosquitos from getting into our tent. Overall, I was happy with this product and would recommend them to anyone who doesn’t like bug spray. They do have an odor, but not near as bad as bug spray.

I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of these mosquito repellent bracelets. I’m one of those people who bugs seem to love, good and bad. Along with the mosquitos we have these teensy-tiny black bugs that resemble fruit flies under a microscope. The problem is they bite and bite and bite, often going after sensitive facial areas around the eyes and nose, leaving itchy, sacs behind. After being bitten all day, some mornings I wake up with eyelids that are so swollen I can barely keep my eyes open. I’m small & the bracelets stretch quite a bit, so I’m able to wear them around my neck or like a headband, but they work as a pony tail holder too. I’ve been wearing one at the head or neck area and another on one ankle, but after a rainfall, I’ll add a 3rd to my wrist. They really work, not 100%, but they make a big difference inside and out, for mosquitos and the teensy black biting bugs. I find they work well for the 1st day, but the bugs start biting more the 2nd day of wear, even if I seal them back up in their little package. Regardless, I’ll be buying a bigger pack the next time around.

I wasn’t about to spend my vacation with one of these neon bright bracelets on EACH limb, but I wore one on my ankle each day of a recent vacation in a wooded and humid lake area. I do think that it made a difference, and perhaps would have made a bigger difference if I wore more than one at a time (though, again, I’m not trying to look like I lost a fight with a phone cord). I wish there were more subtle/neutral colors offered for boring people like me! :) these are a great option for helping to deter mosquitos without having to douse yourself or your clothes in chemicals.
The scent is strong at first but mellows after a few hours. I think they last longer than the package says, and I left “used” bracelets strategically around my bedroom, near doors and windows, to prevent unwelcome bug visitors.
